Nawundi Adventure Fundraising is a non profit organization set up to facilitate fundraising activities for Australian charity organizations. Nawundi is the Wagiman Koori people of the far Nth Queensland’s Cape regions’ word for ‘to give’.
Our aim is to provide a groundwork/network upon which to raise funds for various organizations that specifically support equality, equal opportunity, and human rights around the world.
Our first ever event - Oxfam Challenge - Sri Lanka, is a fundraising mountain bike ride around Sri Lanka’s South-West coast, then inland and up into the high country before finally retuning to the capital Colombo some 11 days and 600kms later.
It is our goal to do at least one of these types of adventure rides every year. In doing so, we not only raise money for good causes, but also get to see first hand the good work our chosen charity is doing in a given country, as well as get to see places from a different perspective than we would if we were just a regular traveller.
For the current Adventure, Nawundi is the vehicle for Warwick Gresswell and Brett Carr to raise funds as part of the Oxfam Challenge - Sri Lanka. If you would like to get involved with this event as a fundraiser/rider ( and we suggest you do, it’s an awesome opportunity ) you should contact Oxfam directly. If you would like to sponsor us or make a donation to Oxfam, you’ve come to the right place!
Just follow the ‘Contact / Donate’ link if you would like to throw us a few pennies to give to the people who need it most, or if you’re a corporate sponsor and would like to contribute, please email us at info@nawundi.org.
Just remember - all donations over $2 are tax deductible! That means that little Johnny doesn’t get your money, the poor and disadvantaged people of the world do. Being non-profit, we do not take any donations to buy expensive cars or anything like that either - everything you see here and everything designed or organised to raise money ( in this case for Oxfam ) is totally non-profit. It’s either donated or we do it in our spare time - it’s that simple!
